Are fancy fonts “real” fonts?

In design software, a font is a file: outlines, metrics, licensing. In a social bio, a “font” is usually a different code point. Mathematical Bold A (𝐔+𝟏𝐃𝟒𝟎𝟎 range families) is not a styled letter A — it is another character that merely looks like one. Generators swap characters. Keyboards do the same swap as you type.

Security basics

Because the characters are just text, the main risks are social: impersonation with lookalike letters, or shady websites that ask for unnecessary permissions. Prefer local generators. Literya does not need your social passwords and does not collect typed content.

Why won’t my fancy text work with Ukrainian letters?+

Most mathematical alphanumeric styles only define Latin. Use decorations, spacing and combining marks for Cyrillic — explained in our Ukrainian fancy fonts article.

Is NFKC normalization bad?+

Compatibility normalization can strip mathematical styling. Literya avoids destroying styled output with aggressive compatibility folds.

Do I need the internet for the keyboard?+

No for typing and generation. The keyboard is offline-first; purchases stay in the host app, not in the extension.
